Artist: John William Waterhouse
In this painting a British artist, renowned for his work in the Pre-Raphaelite style, depicts a woman of Arthurian poetic myth.
Doomed to imprisonment, the woman was cursed to never look directly at the outside world, but could only follow life through a mirror while weaving what she saw into a tapestry.
When she saw Sir Lancelot passing, she was overcome and dared to glance out toward Camelot. This brought about the curse, and she fled in a boat named Lady of Shalott.
However, her love would remain unrequited, as she died before reaching King Arthur's city.
Eurographics puzzles are made according to high standards; 100% recyclable materials, non-toxic and vegetable based inks, 0.07" blueboard for exact piece fit without fraying, and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
